Continue ShoppingThis is a letter I never thought I’d be writing, but instead I am excited to share this with all of you. A new chapter is on the horizon, and it’s going to be fabulous.
The pandemic has brought small businesses across the world to various states of stand still, half opening, openings and closings, restrictions/non restrictions, we all know, we’ve all been living it in some form since the beginning. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have been able to get this far, and the new beginnings we are about to experience will make this worth it.
As a person, I think like many, will forever be changed by the experiences we’ve been through, not only in the last few years, but from the time I opened a tiny one room yarn shop, to where we are today. There have been hurdles, joys, pure bliss, and all the emotions in between. The common thread is gratitude. The encouragement, the love, the support, and friendships have been the never-ending blessing that has come from this whole experience, and we want it to continue. So, it has come time to make some pretty big changes.
The Lindsay location of Aberdeen’s Wool at 228 Kent Street West, will officially close its doors on March 12th, 2022 at 4:00. During the time between now and then, we will continue to bring in new arrivals, have wonderful sale items, as we make our transition. This is bittersweet, as this is where this adventure began, but like all adventures, sometimes the path less taken is the one we should explore.
So with my heart bursting and a tear or two, I want to express how grateful I am to each and everyone of you. This is hard, but the hardest things are always the things that turn out the best. That will be our story, and we are excited for you to join us in this very exciting adventure of transition and growth.
This is a temporary closure while we reinvigorate, reinvent, and rejuvenate our shop, so we can move into a location that is more accessible, and fits our new vision for the future of Aberdeen’s Wool. We have simply outgrown our current space, and it no longer fits our needs. The business is NOT closing, we are just temporarily closing one location. The warehouse will continue to ship daily, and we will continue to share our Tangled Poets adventures, as festival season is quickly approaching.
The benefit to this is we can focus our staff to one location, enabling us to make drastic improvements to customer service, and inventory management. It will also enable to us to mitigate the current supply chain issues in a far more efficient and creative fashion. This makes for a far better customer experience for everyone.
This also allows us as a business to transition from simply survival, and pivoting every few months, to become exactly who we want to become. We are excited, and the whole team is ready and looking forward to making this the best version of Aberdeen’s Wool.
During the time that the Lindsay location is closed, we are looking for ways to set up a pick up location or offer deliveries on set days each week, details on this will follow shortly.
I will be hosting a Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Instagram on Thursday February 17, at 6:30 EST, to answer any questions anyone has, and we will provide a follow up blog post with details, in the coming days.
I will be as attentive to emails as possible between now and Thursday, as I am sure there will be questions, and messages. We will send out the FAQ’s we gather from Thursday. And I will do my best to get back to everyone as soon as possible.
With all the love and gratitude I can express
Love

Good Luck in your new endeavours. It’s no doubt bitter sweet ut you have grown and you will continue to do well.
During this Pandemic time, you were a savior to many people (including me).
You helped us to smile and keep us busy knitting and think of things to make.
All the best always.

This has been a terrible two years of Covid, lockdowns, and shop closures. Good luck on your new adventure.
