Continue Shopping#Coronavirus
We wanted to reach out to all of you, and say we hope you are doing okay, and that your families and loved ones are doing okay.
We also felt it important to make an action plan for Aberdeen’s Wool.
Our customers and employees are our first priority.
For our Customers:
We understand how scary it is to go out, so we are offering curbside pick up. If you don’t have access to a computer we are happy to bring one out to your car, so you can virtually shop, and bring your order out to the car. Just text our call the shop at 705-928-5417, and we will make sure you are taken care of.
We will be suspending our weekly Stitch and Bitch for the next few weeks (we hope it’s short lived, but like everything else, this is changing so fast, we will regroup in the shop as soon as it’s safe to do so. We will start a FaceTime/WhatsApp group details will be posted over the weekend, if you still want to stitch together, while we all take the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe.
We have also implemented temporary work hours.
Our new temporary hours during #coronavirus will now be:
Monday 10-6
Tuesday 10-6
Wednesday 10-6
Thursday 10-5
Friday 10-6
Saturday 10-4
Sunday – CLOSED
We will update any class postponements/cancellations as needed.
We also recognize that many of us are scared, and as amazing as social media is for information sharing, it can be overwhelming. So, we are going to build a happy place, that we can all escape into. We will be hosting a virtual Mystery Knit Along, and a Crochet Along. (Info to be posted later today on our social media’s). Socializing is so much of who we are as a society, that hopefully this can take some of the sting of isolation off of us. Checking in with each other, is so important. Knitting is a community, and I feel it’s important that we check in, ask friends if they are doing okay, do they need to talk, so we will make a virtual space for us to do this.
We have are taking the necessary cleaning precautions in the shop, and there are hand sanitizers throughout the shop.
For our Employees:
We’ve of course asked our employees, if they feel sick, to stay home! If they require days off for school closures, etc. or they get quarantined, they will not definitely NOT loss their jobs, and they will receive their full pay. Some employees will be working remotely when possible. The reduction of hours will also not effect the financial stability of our employees families.
We will be making updates as need be, and reaching out on a regular basis. If you don’t follow us, please do. We’re on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you have any questions about what the shop is doing, please don’t hesitate to email heather@aberdeenswool.ca
For our Community:
Let’s be kind to one another, online, and in our local areas. If you have neighbors, who cant get to a grocery store or a pharmacy, and your going, lets check in with them.
With school closures it also means, school food programs will be effected, when we are at the grocery store, maybe grab two or three things for the food bank, the demand will increase as this virus spreads.
Let’s support our small local businesses as best we can, if we are stocking up on things we need, let’s do those things at independently owned small businesses.
This is a time for all of us to rally together, to band together in whichever way we can.
Be well, stay safe, be mindful of your mental health, and let’s keep each other’s spirits up.
With Much Love
Heather
