Continue ShoppingSome of you by now, know that every year, around this time, I usually post a reflective and lengthy letter to mark the occasion of our shop’s (now online shop) anniversary. It gets personal, and rambling, and usually pretty vulnerable, so if you’re not into that, just scroll to the bottom for the goodies.
Truthfully, I never imagined being able to write this post, as this year has been something I’d rather like to forget, well the bad stuff anyway. But the good stuff I will carry in my spirit forever.
I would never be able to write this post without acknowledging some very important people in my life. To my mom and dad, who would drive to the hospital everyday for weeks on end, sometimes twice a day, dad bringing me real coffee in the morning, and mom bringing me ice cream, or peanut butter and jam sandwiches during evening visiting hours, just so I wouldn’t feel so alone.
To Isaac and Syd, who to would drive to the hospital as often as humanly possible, while both working, and Syd in school (still graduating with honours, so proud) they also did there best to keep our home together, and the business together while I was simply unable to do anything.
To Ally and Amanda, both did everything they could to keep things together, Ally stepping in as a support system for Syd, and checking in on me, visiting in the hospital, and daily inspiration was a light even on days I couldn’t respond.
To Jim and Cathy, who took care of the farm, and Isaac, the dogs, the cats, and all the things that made it possible for Isaac and Syd to visit as often as possible, packing lunches, and making sure they were fed.
To my friend Gale, who would come and visit bedside, and make me laugh, and is always just such a beautiful human.
To my aunts and Uncles who supported us throughout the way, without their support there’s a good chance this letter wouldn’t be being written, and I can’t thank them enough.
To all of you who send such lovely and encouraging emails, messages, supported our Kofi campaign, and placed orders, knowing there would be delays. It meant the world to me; I felt a place in the community that seemed so far away at times.
It feels surreal to be sitting here, in my own home, active once again in business, with some limitations, but surrounded by an incredible team, who always step in when I can’t accomplish something (but I will, as I continue to improve)
Each of you who have stood with us through this year has been incredible, and I am so eternally grateful. And this year we will celebrate once again. Because if I’ve learned anything this year, it’s celebrating the people you love, and celebrate the things you feel good about, the little wins, the big wins, and the big dreams, because we only get one chance at this life, and if anything, I am grabbing life and celebrating the milestones each chance I get.
So today we kick off our annual Anniversary Celebration!
A month-long celebration from now until Dec 01. Are you excited, because I am.
We are going to break it down into 4 parts, each week anyone who places an order, no minimums, no codes, no extra work on your part, will be entered to win a $100 gift card. Each week, we will be putting something fabulous on sale. We will also be including some random treats in random parcels throughout the week.
This week,
ALL Lopi products will be 20% off, and
our popular Mystery Bags will be 15% off.
We will also be adding new yarns over the week, and sharing some exciting things to look forward to in the New Year.
With Love and Gratitude
Heather
